2. Workshop description
This will be a fun information packed day of lecture, learning,
art, and role playing exercises between participants.
ROLE PLAYING IS
the number one most effective sales training tool used in professional
sales training, and it will be used extensively during this workshop,
to give you the absolute highest level of benefit this day has
to offer.
Seminars are a combination of short lectures, exercises, and hands
on help from Professional Artist and Lecturer, Riki Nelson.
A special "Learn
to Sell and Present your Own Art" Workbook has been created
just for Workshop participants . It will outline the various exercises
- that will also be discussed in the lectures - that the artists
will have to choose from throughout the Workshop. During the actual
Workshop portion of the day, Riki Nelson will be going from group
to group, offering her insights and experience into the selling
and presenting process, as well how to get the most from the exercises.
Similar seminars,
usually lasting several days, and can cost many hundreds or even
thousands of dollars per person.
But by giving participant
artists some simple things to read, think about, and prepare ahead
of time, we will cover much of the same material as the longer
more expensive seminars do.
This kind of hands-on
contact with an expert in the field can help to set you, the artist,
firmly on your own path to successfully selling your own Art!

Artist Lecturer,
Riki R. Nelson

Riki's career
in the art business, began at age 16 when she was put in charge
of sales and promotions, for her families fine art and antique business.
She went on
to work in the capacity of sales manager, sales trainer, and art
consultant in some of the largest and most prestigious commercial
galleries in the country, as well as having done hundreds of art
and trade shows. During her time working for galleries - spanning
over 15 years - She realized that that art and skill of selling
art, was only being taught in a very limited fashion, that worked
for only a very few people.
Riki balked
against the, "if you don't get, it, then your are in the wrong business"
school of fine art sales training, and decided to develop her own.
After many years, Riki has fine tuned a more inclusive, motivational,
and "user friendly", philosophy of presenting and selling art, particularly
tailored to Artists ; integrating many of the solid proven techniques
that have sold millions of dollars worth of art for countless companies
and individuals, by breaking down the actual
"Key Elements" of what was working in those techniques,
adding her own insights and successful techniques into the art
selling, presenting, and promotion process, in an approach
that will enable anyone to use them, in their way, with their own,
"style" and to what ever degree works for their particular
goals.
For Artists
selling and promoting their work:
When Riki began to successfully sell and promote her own art, she
soon realized that her in depth knowledge of arts sales, presentation,
and art shows, translated easily into information that would be
invaluable for today's "selling artist"; artists who are
moving, or have moved into, selling and presenting their own work.
The momentum
of artists selling their work at Open Studio, Art Fairs, Art
Collectives, and Art Shows, has never been this prevalent, and
powerful, yet, most of what is being written, is more about mass
marketing, and less about what to do, one on one, with a potential
client, or, how to present yourself and your work in the most effective,
and cost effective, way possible.
