Info-
In the Downtown, parking is free, and plentiful,
but each lot has different limits :
up to 3 hours in the main lots . There is a public parking lot behind
behind Peabody Gallery at N. Santa Cruz (at Main St.) Continue up
Main St, as if going into the hills and residential area, make an
immediate right into the lot just past N. Santa Cruz Ave. A second
3 hr lot is directly behind "Time Out Clothing" 108 N. Santa
Cruz (-Lot parallels N. Santa Cruz between N. Santa Cruz & University
Ave) This lot offers free valet parking to the public for the
Holidays beginning sometime in Nov.
Unless you are in a rare, "Olive Zone", or a 2 hr. spot
- remember to read the signs - in most downtown lots, you can park
for 3 hrs, move your car to another spot in the same lot, and park
again - they stop ticketing after 6 pm., so if you park after 3 pm,
you are good for the evening in most of major lots. Two small, all
day parking lots are located at Highway 9 a couple lots down from
Washington Mutual & another behind Town Plaza Park, near the freeway
entrance across/catty corner from the Toll House. Map of downtown

Christmas Tree Lighting, First Day of Carriage Rides
Tree Lighting festivities start at 4:00 pm at the Plaza Park at the corner of Main Street and Santa Cruz Ave. Actual lighting of the tree is at 6pm. Santa arrives on a red fire engine at 6:01pm and stays at the park until 7pm. Carriage Rides starts at 7pm. For Carriage Rides online reservation, please visit www.losgatoschamber.com. The reservation site opens on October 1.
