Business Philosophy and Experience - Prior to becoming a professional artist, I worked as a Sales Manager and Art Consultant in upscale Monterey, Carmel, and Silicon Valley Fine Art Galleries.

I understand and appreciate your valuable investment in the artists you carry.

Even though I do not wish to interfere, or selI - my time is better spent painting!- I do possess a unique understanding of the business end of art galleries born from my years of experience in the industry. This makes me an asset to any gallery that carries me, even beyond the painstakely created authentic high quality Art that is the focus of my life and work.

I have the ability to interact well with your clients, and at artist receptions, and am happy to meet with you and your clients upon your request, if it will help to facilitate a larger sale.

I am a self publishing artist,
located in Los Gatos California. Although I do a lot of promotion, I rarely sell to the public directly, preferring to work with and promote the galleries and dealers that put so much into carrying and promoting my work.

I never compete with a gallery that carries me. If I am contacted by an interested retail buyer looking for a better price, I will always direct them BACK to the gallery where they had recently seen the piece.

Recent Mile Stones:

  • In Feb. 2005 I was given a successful "one man" Gallery show, month long exhibit and Artist Reception, by the prestigious Peabody Fine Art Gallery of Los Gatos. The collection featured oil paintings of jazz musicians & outdoor jazz concerts, unique "modern realism" portraits and paintings of (winter) night Cityscapes and street scenes .

  • In Sept. 2005 A body of my most recent paintings of Jazz musicians in there "natural habitat" of a local Jazz Night Clubs, was the "Headline" feature in a month long Jazz Art exhibit at Peabody Gallery of Los Gatos. My art in particular, in connection with this show, was mentioned in both the SF Examiner and the "Briefs Column" in the the Los Gatos Weekly newspaper.

  • In Sept. 2005 ISLG Fine Art and Design expanded their representation of my work. My work now hangs in their Los Gatos store, as well as the strong body of work featured in their Campbell showroom.

  • In Dec. 2005 Peabody Gallery Los Gatos - My winter paintings are featured thru mid Janurary

I work exclusively in oil, either on canvas, or linen, and occasionally on panel. Subjects range from Cityscapes, to jazz scenes, to portraits, to seascapes and waterscenes. I am best known for my portraits of modern life and local water scenes.

My art is "110% pure" . The compositions, inspiration, successes - even the failures that nobody sees - are unique, and are all my own. As have been the many years of study, practice, and sacrifice, that have brought me to a point where my art is considered to be worth seeing, and purchasing.

I continue to study, experiment, and expand. Like many serious artists, the goal, is really the journey, and the most accomplished painting I will ever do, will be the last one. At the end of the day, for any real artist, it is still about the art - or at least it should be.

I do both studio and plein air painting, and so have two distinctive styles. I would consider the right commission, if it seemed a viable project - I do not work from second party photos, only from my own material - sketches and photos I create - and my own personal interaction with the subject, and of course from life. A sampling of my work can be seen in my online gallery. Thank you for your interest.
