This exhibit features unique, never before shown, “Modern Realist” Oil Paintings celebrating the vibrant Jazz scene and culture that thrives in the SF Bay Area, by Bay Area Artist Oil Painter, Riki R. Nelson.
The collection features unique portraits of nationally known Jazz singers and Jazz musicians taken from their bay area appearances. Portraits of Jazz Singers, musicians, and candid paintings of local Jazz Bar Scenes & Jazz culture, will be featured.
R.R. Nelson paints highly detailed scenes and portraits in oil of the best of what the Bay Area has to offer, using a skillful and creative blend of both traditional and modern oil painting techniques and styles, to create a form of realism that is sometimes playful, sometimes edgy, sometimes soulful, and always decidedly modern. Each painting is one of a kind, and can take anywhere from 3 weeks to 3 months to create.
This Artist uses only her own creative vision, personal experiences, sketches,
and photos of her chosen subjects to create truly unique works of Contemporary
Fine Art.
